Doom and gloom has surrounded the high street in recent years with reports of closures up and down the country. Nevertheless, the industry’s resilience has paid off, and there has been evidence of some promising signs of recovery since 2012. Retailers need to find the right tools to give their customers what they want while being adaptable to in terms of payments and technology.

• Over a third (35%) of retail SMEs do not have a website
• Only 5% of retail SMEs offer retail finance despite those SMEs using retail finance reporting up to a 30% increase in sales when offering finance as an option at checkout
